For nearly a decade, I led the growth of multi-location operations across Michigan — helping build the people, processes, systems, and strategy needed to support a growing organization.
Along the way, I learned that growth isn't just about more customers or more revenue. It's about building a business that can actually support that growth — while creating an experience people want to come back to. From the moment someone calls your business to the comfort of the chair they sit in, the details matter.
Over time, I realized I missed the rush of building something new — landing the account, solving the problem that seemed impossible a few weeks earlier, opening a new location, or finally reaching a milestone.
I wanted to bring that energy and experience to other growing businesses.
That's why I started Tennyson Consulting, a Metro Detroit small business and operations consultancy. I work alongside owners to simplify operations, strengthen teams, solve problems, and build businesses that can grow sustainably.
The solution looks different for every business. My starting point doesn't: understand the business before trying to fix it.
Hi, I'm [name]
I'm the founder of Tennyson Consulting and an operations leader with nearly a decade of experience helping a multi-site organization grow and evolve.
I've led operations across more than 10 locations, with responsibilities spanning HR and employee experience, financial oversight, compliance, customer experience, systems and technology, facilities, leadership development, and growth strategy.
That breadth has taught me to look at a business from 30,000 feet — and then get right into the weeds when that's where the problem lives.
I'm a data person, but I'm also a people person. I like a good spreadsheet, but some of the most useful information I've ever gotten has come from sitting down with someone and asking the right questions.
That's a big part of how I work. I don't walk into your business assuming I already know what's wrong. I listen. I ask questions. I look at the numbers. I talk to the people doing the work.
Then we figure out what actually needs attention — and what's just noise.
Tennyson is the name of my neighborhood — a close-knit place where people show up for each other. We share eggs from backyard hens, snow blow each other's sidewalks, and light paper lanterns in the winter to create a little magic for the kids.
There’s even a neighbor who knows every dog’s name and where they live. She checks in when a pup gains a human sibling or crosses the rainbow bridge — and in doing so, she stays connected to all of us.
That’s the kind of connection I want to bring to my work. When you work with me, you can expect honest conversations, thoughtful follow-through, and a relationship that doesn’t end when the project does. I’ll remember the details that matter to you — whether it’s your child's concert or your weekend trip.
I'm lucky to have a community where people and businesses show up for one another. That's what I want Tennyson to help build elsewhere, too — because a thriving local business doesn't succeed in isolation. It creates jobs, connection, opportunity, and momentum for the community around it.

Connection
Business is personal. I believe in building real relationships that last beyond the project, remembering the details that matter, and investing in the success of both your business and your community.
We start with questions.
Our first conversations are casual and curious. I want to understand what's happening, what's frustrating you, what's working, and where you want to go before we start talking solutions.
We make it manageable.
No unnecessarily complicated frameworks or recommendations that look great on paper but aren't realistic for your business. We'll turn complex problems into clear, attainable next steps.
We decide how hands-on you need me to be.
I can give you the playbook, help your team implement it, or step into the day-to-day and help drive the work forward.
My goal is simple: when our work wraps up, I want you to feel that I truly understood you, where your business stood, and where you wanted it to go.
You don't have to know exactly what kind of consulting you need. Start by telling me what's going on.
